About Us

 

Our founder Mel, a native of Jamaica, brought his love of the land to his backyard in the Bronx, NY. During the summers, he grew lush bok choy, callaloo, and of course, Scotch bonnet peppers. He was intrigued by the variations in the Scotch bonnet heat over the years and started experimenting with growing other varieties of peppers.

One summer, with a bounty of peppers, many quite hot, Mel decided to make his first pepper sauce using a family recipe. Family and friends loved the pepper sauce! Using their feedback, Mel tweaked his formulas to develop the variety of sauces, we have today.
